How Do I Prevent This Pain From Returning???

Hi again!

Dr. Jeff Henry here. When patients start to feel better, they often ask, "How do I prevent this pain from returning like it has before?".

That is a great question! One of my favorite sayings is, "The highest calling of any doctor is to help prevent what they treat.". Sometmes people make the mistake of assuming that when the pain is gone, the underlying problem that caused their pain is gone, too. That is frequently a painful and costly mistake that invites a needless relapse. Each relapse is usually more painful than the last one, because the underlying cause of the pain was not fixed and has been allowed to get worse. Pain is like the oil light on your dashboard. You can add a quart of oil to make it go out, but unless you fix the leak, it is only a matter of time before it gets worse, and the light comes back on.

That is one of many things wrong with just treating symptoms. And, that is why I am not satisfied with just helping you feel better. I want to help your body heal and correct the underlying cause of your suffering so you can avoid worse problems in the future, and enjoy greater health and vitality.

Part of my job is to explain what's wrong, what needs to be done in the short term to help you feel better, and then explain what can be done to help correct the cause of your pain, so you have the option of preventing a needless relapse. Often this involves simple lifestyle changes, including regular chiropractic check-ups, better nutrition, hydration, and some very specific exercises targeted toward your particular problem and the demands of your particular lifestyle.

Just like maintaining your vehicle, it is much more convenient, more economical, and much healthier to correct the causes of problems (and prevent others!) rather than deal with their symptoms after they have been allowed to become a crisis.

I practice wellness, and have coached many hundreds of people about how to live healthier, more productive and satisfying lives.

It would be my privilege to help you, too! Just give us a call at 719-522-1219 or click on the link below to find out how we can help.
